Software Engineer II – Enterprise Platforms & GenAI

About the role

We are seeking a Software Engineer II to design and build scalable, enterprise‑grade platforms that power customer experiences and support Walmart’s GenAI transformation across the region. The role blends technical leadership with hands‑on development using modern technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop highly scalable, reliable systems at enterprise scale.
• Lead complex solution implementation while remaining hands‑on in coding and prototyping.
• Make architectural decisions that balance short‑term delivery with long‑term scalability.
• Drive engineering excellence through CI/CD, observability, and reliability best practices.
• Build and scale GenAI‑powered customer solutions using distributed systems and service‑oriented architecture.
• Collaborate with Product, Business, and UX teams to align technical solutions with strategic objectives.
• Participate in architectural reviews, operational discussions, and incident resolution.
• Mentor engineers, advocate clean architecture, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Required profile

• 7+ years of software engineering experience.
• Strong experience with Java, React, and distributed systems.
• Proven track record building enterprise‑scale platforms.
• Experience or exposure to GenAI systems.
• System‑level problem‑solving mindset and passion for engineering excellence.
• Experience building accessible solutions (WCAG 2.2 AA is a plus).
• Advanced English proficiency.
