Senior Software Engineer – Semiconductor Test Systems

About the role

Teradyne’s Nextest Business Unit in Alajuela, Costa Rica is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to contribute to the Magnum family of semiconductor memory testers. You will work on multimillion‑dollar systems that combine advanced electronics, mechanical packaging, active cooling and complex software, ensuring that memory components in computers, phones and tablets are tested accurately.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret customer requirements and integrate them into the existing software architecture.
• Design, develop and maintain programs and libraries for new and existing test products.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to create innovative features for next‑generation testers.
• Work closely with the Field Applications team to improve customer success and resolve issues.
• Partner with the Software QA group to define test strategies and address software release quality.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics or a related engineering discipline.
• Strong motivation for customer success and a collaborative mindset.
• Ability to solve complex technical problems across hardware and software domains.
