Senior Software Engineer – Market Data Platform

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to lead the development of our Market Data Platform. The role bridges complex business requirements with scalable technical solutions, working on Java services, SQL Server workflows, file‑based pipelines and third‑party vendor integrations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of Java services, libraries and web applications that support market data ingestion, transformation, validation and serving.
• Enhance Linux‑based file‑system pipelines and batch jobs that process large volumes of market data.
• Maintain and evolve SQL Server schemas, write efficient queries and manage scheduler‑driven workflows.
• Integrate and normalize feeds from vendors such as Refinitiv, Bloomberg, Haver, S&P and MSCI.
• Debug complex production issues across code, data and infrastructure to ensure data integrity.
• Refactor legacy components and build shared framework code used across multiple repositories.
• Develop formula engines, rule processing systems and proprietary DSL‑style code.
• Collaborate with engineering leadership to transition the platform toward data‑lake and AI‑enabled architectures.
• Document system designs, processes and market‑data serving platforms.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong hands‑on background in Java backend development.
• Proficiency with SQL Server or other relational databases, including schema design and query optimization.
• Experience building production backend systems that involve databases, file‑based processing and data pipelines.
• Excellent problem‑solving, debugging and system‑design skills.
• Ability to work across multiple code repositories and shared libraries.
• Strong communication and ownership mindset.
