Senior Software Engineer – AI/HPC Middleware

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, and enable AI/HPC communication middleware on Cornelis Networks’ high‑performance interconnects. The role focuses on optimizing MPI, SHMEM and AI collective communication libraries such as NCCL/RCCL, and delivering end‑to‑end performance for demanding customer workloads.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and optimize features for HPC middleware (MPI, SHMEM) and AI middleware (CCL stacks, NCCL/RCCL).
• Integrate middleware capabilities with transport layers such as libfabric/OFI, UCX, and verb‑like semantics.
• Prepare and submit upstream contributions to open‑source MPI/SHMEM projects and CCL ecosystems.
• Collaborate with kernel/driver, switch, system, and application teams to validate performance against the product roadmap.
• Analyze performance traces, reproduce customer issues, and translate findings into fixes.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years of systems programming experience in C/C++ on Linux.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field.
• Strong background in high‑performance computing and AI workloads.
