About the role

The Senior Director, Functional Area Geography Lead for GDMS Clinical Data Management provides strategic direction and governance for data‑management delivery in Costa Rica. Reporting to global GDMS leadership, the role ensures consistent quality, compliance, and operational performance across the country.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute country‑specific strategic objectives aligned with global GDMS priorities.
• Lead cross‑functional collaborations with non‑GDMS partners and enterprise support functions.
• Oversee workforce planning, resource optimization, and operational performance metrics.
• Serve as escalation point for country issues, managing risk, compliance, and capacity.
• Drive adoption of automation, risk‑based data‑management practices, and technology solutions.
• Represent the geographic perspective in GDMS leadership teams, forums, and audits.
• Support talent development, capability building, and scalability initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in clinical data management or related functional area.
• Strong track record of strategic planning, operational governance, and cross‑functional alignment.
• Excellent communication skills to convey risks, trade‑offs, and decisions to executives.
• Experience managing regulatory, business, and labor compliance in a multinational environment.
