About the role
Howard Financial is seeking a hands‑on Senior Controller to lead its consumer‑industry accounting portfolio. The role combines technical accounting, people leadership, and strategic partnership with clients.
Key responsibilities
- Own the full accounting cycle and manage month‑end and quarter‑end close processes.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals.
- Drive AI and automation initiatives to streamline workflows and reduce manual effort.
- Serve as the primary accounting contact for consumer‑portfolio clients, building relationships and presenting financial results.
- Oversee accounting operations across the consumer industry portfolio, ensuring consistency and accuracy.
Required profile
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including hands‑on controller or senior accounting leadership roles.
- Deep knowledge of the consumer industry (CPG, retail, or related sectors).
- Proven experience implementing accounting automations or AI‑driven process improvements.
- Strong client‑facing and communication abilities.
