Senior Consultant - Data Engineer

About the role

IBM Consulting is seeking a Senior Consultant specialized in Data Engineering to design and deliver Snowflake Data Cloud solutions for global clients. You will build end‑to‑end data pipelines, ensure data governance, and partner with technical and business teams to drive cloud‑native analytics initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable ELT/ETL pipelines using cloud technologies.
• Implement ingestion and change‑data‑capture patterns with tools such as Fivetran, Qlik Replicate, or native cloud services.
• Create transformation logic using SQL, dbt, and Python while following DataOps best practices.
• Engineer data models across Dimensional, Data Vault, Lakehouse, and semantic layers.
• Optimize cloud data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks, AWS, Azure, GCP) for performance, cost, and reliability.
• Orchestrate workflows with Airflow, dbt Cloud, or native schedulers.
• Engage clients to gather requirements, present solutions, and support architecture reviews.
• Implement data validation, observability, RBAC, masking, encryption, and compliance controls.
• Mentor junior engineers, conduct code reviews, and contribute to internal accelerators.

Required profile

• Proven experience building and migrating data pipelines in cloud environments.
• Strong understanding of data governance, security, and quality frameworks.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with client and internal stakeholders.
