Search Engine Optimization Team Lead

About the role

The Search Engine Optimization Team Lead will own the organic search roadmap for North American markets, driving strategy, execution and performance across technical, content and off‑page SEO.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain 90‑day, 6‑month and 12‑month SEO plans, including keyword strategy and content prioritisation.
• Track rankings, visibility and traffic using Google Search Console, GA4 and web analytics; benchmark against competitors with Ahrefs, Semrush or similar tools.
• Audit technical SEO issues, prioritise fixes and lead delivery with development teams, covering crawl efficiency, indexation, site architecture, JavaScript rendering and Core Web Vitals.
• Define content clusters, set on‑page SEO standards and review published work performance.
• Own backlink strategy, conduct audits, manage outreach, and decide on disavow actions.

Required profile

• 5+ years of SEO experience, including at least 2 years leading strategy for a large, mixed‑type site.
• Proven track record of organic growth tied to commercial results.
• Hands‑on technical SEO expertise: crawl, indexation, log‑file analysis, JavaScript rendering and performance optimisation.
• Practical link‑building experience: prospecting, outreach, anchor‑text strategy and backlink audits.
