R&D Manager I – Sustaining

About the role

Join Boston Scientific’s Endoscopy Sustaining R&D team to protect product quality, compliance and business continuity for a portfolio of commercial medical devices. As an R&D Manager (M3) you will lead a group of engineers at the Coyol manufacturing site, guiding technical decisions, prioritising projects and developing talent.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance and approve strategies for sustaining R&D activities.
• Identify and drive value‑improvement projects and complaint‑reduction initiatives.
• Recruit, mentor and develop a high‑performing engineering team.
• Manage project portfolios, allocate resources and ensure timely delivery of R&D deliverables.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally to resolve technical issues and maintain compliance.
• Assist in budget development, monitoring and adherence.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading engineering teams in a medical‑device or related high‑tech environment.
• Strong decision‑making skills with a focus on quality, compliance and business continuity.
• Excellent communication and ability to build trust with direct reports and cross‑functional partners.
• Demonstrated ability to manage project prioritisation and resource planning.
