Purchasing Specialist - Procurement Operations

About the role

We are looking for a Purchasing Specialist to join our Procurement Operations team at GEP. The role involves managing purchase requisitions, selecting suppliers, and ensuring smooth order processing across our global client base.

Key responsibilities

• Review purchase requisitions, identify appropriate sources, and select contracts or suppliers in line with approved purchasing strategies.
• Process purchase orders, resolve PO/PR issues, and coordinate with buyers, clients, and suppliers to address delivery and claim matters.
• Research and resolve invoice discrepancies, manage vendor master data, and handle new vendor setups.
• Communicate with suppliers and internal users to resolve shipping, damaged goods, and return issues.
• Obtain pricing from approved suppliers, generate purchase orders, and route high‑value items to senior buyers.
• Execute and support online procurement events (RFPs, auctions) and provide related training.
• Prepare reports on event outcomes and maintain professional supplier relationships.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Business, Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 2–3 years of experience in buying or procurement.
• Fluent in English and Spanish; Portuguese a plus.

Required skills

• Knowledge of purchase‑to‑pay (P2P) processes and tools.
• Familiarity with ERP/P2P systems such as SAP or Oracle.
• Strong organizational, quantitative, analytical and communication abilities.
