Property Tax Associate (NYC Appeals) - Remote Costa Rica

About the role

A remote, full-time Property Tax Associate is needed to support New York City property tax appeal operations. The role combines client communication, document processing, analytical work and operational support. It is based on U.S. Eastern Time business hours, with a stated pay of USD 1,750 per month.

Key responsibilities

• Client communication and information collection (35%): contact clients and their staff by phone and email in English, follow up for documents, signatures and supporting information, clarify questions about property information and forms, and support internal analysts with accurate, timely data.
• Call handling (15%): help direct and handle incoming calls and communicate professionally and on time with clients and partners.
• Property tax appeal and administrative support (50%): prepare and process appeal documents and applications for the NYC Tax Commission, review property assessments and help prepare for tax appeal hearings, keep records accurate and update company systems, organize property income and expense documentation, collaborate with the Tax Appeal team to improve workflows, support marketing by updating records and coordinating mailings, and perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• C1 English proficiency, written and spoken.
• Proactive, resourceful and eager to learn; comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet recurring deadlines.
• Self-motivated, able to work independently, with learning agility and a sense of urgency.
• Reliable high-speed internet connection; occasional weekend work in February and May during peak periods (with additional compensation).
• Interest in real estate or investment properties is a plus.
