Production Supervisor IV

About the role

Abbott is seeking a Production Supervisor IV to lead manufacturing teams at its Alajuela, Costa Rica facility within the Structural Heart Division. The role focuses on delivering safety, quality, and volume targets while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise production staff, manage scheduling, discipline, coaching, hiring and training while maintaining a constant line presence.
• Ensure compliance with internal and external regulations such as FDA and TUV.
• Address quality issues promptly, lead investigations and implement corrective actions.
• Analyze production data and execute plans to meet productivity, schedule adherence, cost, and service goals.
• Own the assigned production area, designing systems to monitor efficiency and compliance.
• Motivate teams to achieve quality, safety, and staffing objectives and communicate HR information effectively.
• Lead continuous‑improvement projects to boost quality, reduce cost and increase productivity.

Required profile

• B.S. in Industrial Engineering, Administration or a related field.
• 5‑7 years of supervisory experience, preferably in medical‑device, pharmaceutical or electronics manufacturing.
