Production Supervisor I

About the role

Abbott is seeking a Production Supervisor I to lead manufacturing teams at its Alajuela, Costa Rica facility within the Vascular Division. The role focuses on ensuring safe, high‑quality production while meeting volume targets and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and schedule production personnel, handling discipline, coaching, selection and training.
• Maintain compliance with internal and external regulations (FDA, TUV, etc.) and report quality issues promptly.
• Execute production plans to achieve productivity, schedule adherence, quality, cost and service goals.
• Own the assigned production area, monitor efficiency, and ensure processes follow standard procedures.
• Prepare daily reports on production progress, issues and achievements; conduct shift meetings to align staff.
• Interpret production metrics and implement corrective actions as needed.

Required profile

• 80% completion of a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Administration or a related field.
• 0‑2 years of supervisory experience, preferably in medical device, pharmaceutical or electronics manufacturing.
• Understanding of quality systems, manufacturing processes and safety standards.
