Production Accounting Specialist - Feature Films

About the role

A specialized U.S. production accounting firm that handles end-to-end financial operations for independent feature films (budgets from $5M to $20M) is seeking a detail-oriented Production Accounting Specialist for a dedicated remote engagement. The role provides back-office financial support across several film productions at once, managing accounting platforms, budgets, ledgers and closeouts so that records are accurate for audits and tax rebate claims. Candidates must live in Latin America and submit their CV in English; a short Loom video presentation is optional but gives priority.

Key responsibilities

• Set up accounting systems for new feature film productions, configure project-specific charts of accounts and load approved budgets.
• Process initial production deposits and coordinate payments with industry organizations and unions such as SAG and IATSE.
• Enter financial data accurately and on time, keeping organized ledgers across multiple concurrent projects.
• Support post-production accounting after on-set accountants wrap, process outstanding vendor bills and reconcile financial records.
• Assist with final closeouts and documentation for production tax incentives, rebate claims and audits.
• Work with internal teams and production personnel to keep financial records complete and audit-ready.

Required profile

• About 3 years of relevant production accounting experience.
• Previous experience in film or television production accounting.
• Familiarity with production accounting workflows and the financial needs of entertainment projects.
• Strong data entry skills, speed, accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage several projects and priorities at once, work independently and follow established processes.
• Advanced English for collaboration with U.S. teams.

Required skills

• At least one major industry accounting platform: GreenSlate, SmartAccounting (Entertainment Partners), PSL (Cast & Crew), Wrapbook or Cashet.
• Chart of accounts configuration and ledger maintenance.

What we offer

• Competitive monthly fee paid as a flat rate under an independent contractor agreement (initially through February 2027).
• Flexible capacity: 40 hours per week preferred, but 20 or 30 hours per week arrangements are welcome.
• 100% remote work with core availability during U.S. business hours (EST), Monday to Friday.
