Product Development Engineer III

About the role

The Product Development Engineer III leads the design, development, and launch of complex products, ensuring they meet quality, regulatory, and performance standards. This senior position owns key performance indicators and standard operating procedures, driving accountability across the product lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the full product development cycle from concept through production and market launch.
• Collaborate with design, marketing, manufacturing, and quality teams to define specifications and technical requirements.
• Own and track project KPIs, ensuring delivery targets are met.
• Develop, maintain, and enforce SOPs for design, testing, and documentation.
• Research new technologies, materials, and processes to foster innovation.
• Design, simulate, and prototype components using advanced CAD/CAE tools.
• Create and execute test and validation plans, analyze results, and implement corrective actions.
• Produce detailed technical documentation, including drawings, BOMs, and GD&T specifications.
• Mentor junior engineers and participate in design reviews.
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations and quality standards.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering or related field (Master's a plus).
• Minimum 5 years of progressive product development experience, preferably in technology or medical device sectors.
• Proven ability to own KPIs and SOPs with measurable results.
• Excellent verbal and written communication in English and Spanish.

Required skills

• SolidWorks, PTC Creo, AutoCAD (CAD software).
• CAE simulation tools.
• Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
• Plastic, metal, and electromechanical component design.
• Engineering drawing interpretation and GD&T.
• Knowledge of ISO 13485 and ISO 9001 quality regulations.
• Product Development Life Cycle (PDLC) expertise.
