Operations Specialist – Logistics

About the role

OOCL is opening a new location in Escazu, Costa Rica and is looking for an Operations Specialist to join its logistics team. You will support container transportation operations, ensuring accurate shipment data and smooth vessel handling.

Key responsibilities

• Reconcile shipment information between the terminal and internal corporate system, create accurate Load Lists and submit them via email or EDI before vessel cut‑off.
• Perform vessel clean‑up after sailing and promptly inform internal teams of any containers that fail to load.
• Monitor the functional mailbox to trace and resolve exceptional cases such as Export Back Off and customs holds.
• Ensure proper waybills are secured on rail‑road websites, handling rail billing exceptions through email, chat or phone.
• Address additional vessel‑related terminal or intermodal operational needs as required.

Required profile

• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong analytical troubleshooting skills.
• High attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication in English and Spanish.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (part of the Office Suite).
