About the role

We are seeking a qualified General Practitioner to provide comprehensive, safe, and high‑quality medical care to patients visiting our clinic. The role involves clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, follow‑up, and appropriate referrals while maintaining professional ethics and patient confidentiality.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct general medical consultations, including patient history, physical examination, and comprehensive assessment.
• Establish diagnoses and develop treatment plans within the scope of general medicine.
• Prescribe medications and issue medical orders in accordance with current regulations.
• Provide immediate care or first aid for urgent situations occurring in the clinic.
• Identify alarm signs and determine when referral to a specialist or hospital transfer is required.
• Prepare referrals, specialist orders, and related medical documentation.
• Follow up with patients requiring ongoing medical control.
• Accurately record all patient interactions in the clinical record.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and proper handling of medical information.
• Produce reports on consultations and services when requested.
• Educate patients on prevention, treatment, healthy habits, and condition management.
• Adhere to clinical, administrative, biosafety, and service protocols established by the organization.
• Ensure the clinic and medical equipment are kept in suitable condition for service delivery.
• Coordinate with administrative staff and other health professionals to guarantee continuity and quality of care.
• Keep professional knowledge and required certifications up to date.

Required profile

• Medical degree (Licenciatura en Medicina y Cirugía).
• Active registration with the Colegio de Médicos y Cirujanos de Costa Rica.
• Current medical license and related permits.
• Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Availability to work the scheduled hours.
• Desirable: English proficiency at least B1 level and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Minimum of 3 years experience as a General Practitioner.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (preferred).
