Mechanical (HVAC) Engineer

About the role

Power Design is seeking a Mechanical (HVAC) Engineer to lead the design of mechanical and plumbing systems on large‑scale projects. You will perform HVAC load and plumbing flow calculations, select equipment, and develop ductwork and piping layouts using industry‑standard tools.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate optimal design solutions for mechanical and plumbing systems while meeting customer needs, budget constraints, and code requirements.
• Provide design direction and support to team members, collaborating directly with Revit CADD technicians to ensure constructability and quality.
• Communicate effectively with clients, project teams, and inspecting authorities throughout the project lifecycle.

Required profile

• Minimum three years of mechanical/plumbing design experience.
• Strong understanding of constructability and design fundamentals for mechanical and plumbing installations.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to interpret blueprints, submittals, and specifications.

Required skills

• HVAC load calculations using Trane Trace or similar software.
• Experience with VRV, WSHP, and DX Split systems.
• Proficiency in CADD/Revit for mechanical design.
• Knowledge of mechanical and plumbing codes (IPC, IMC, IBC, ASHRAE).
• Duct sizing, layout, and air‑system design.
