Manufacturing Engineer Supervisor

About the role

The Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor provides technical and people leadership to a team of Manufacturing Engineers. The role supports daily engineering activities, leads improvement initiatives and ensures the successful execution of engineering projects. It works closely with cross-functional teams such as Operations, Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain and Validation.

Key responsibilities

• Execute basic engineering assignments independently such as ECNs, NPEs and LCNs
• Manage product transfers and acquisitions through the PTR/PAR process, and integrate products from R&D
• Validate complex equipment and manufacturing lines, and own equipment for preventative maintenance and calibration, including investigations of EIRs and MIRs
• Partner with the Value Stream Team to ensure capacity, low scrap and efficient use of labour on equipment-related issues
• Ensure manufacturing validations, processes and procedures comply with FDA, OSHA, ISO and corporate regulations
• Assist equipment technicians in troubleshooting, define and run improvement programs (cost, quality, capacity), and help modify part designs for better manufacturability
• Lead, coach and develop technical professionals, and support investigations, root cause analysis and corrective actions

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Electromechanical, Chemical or related); Master's preferred
• 5+ years of engineering experience in a medical devices manufacturing environment
• 2+ years of supervisory, team lead or people management experience
• Experience leading engineering projects and supporting investigations and root cause analysis
• Fluent Spanish and advanced written and spoken English
• Background check, including verification of employment and education records

Required skills

• Six Sigma Green Belt and solid understanding of Lean principles
• Advanced Excel, Minitab, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and MRP systems
• Ability to read PLC, pneumatic, electronic and mechanical manuals and schematics
• SolidWorks and AutoCAD familiarity is a plus
• In-depth understanding of medical device manufacturing and FDA GMP requirements
