Maintenance Supervisor

About the role

A Manufacturing operation is looking for a Maintenance Supervisor to lead and coordinate industrial maintenance activities. The supervisor oversees a team of maintenance technicians and ensures preventive, corrective and predictive maintenance programs run effectively, while also driving continuous improvement. The role requires hands-on work on the plant floor and aims to maximise equipment reliability, optimise resources, ensure safety compliance and boost productivity.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise preventive, corrective, predictive and improvement maintenance; coordinate the team to meet maintenance plans, work orders and quality standards, and resolve technical issues affecting production.
• Analyse KPIs and operational trends to find improvement opportunities, and implement reliability strategies that reduce downtime and maintenance costs.
• Develop and maintain maintenance procedures, work instructions and technical documentation, and optimise maintenance plans by asset criticality.
• Manage materials, spare parts and resources, coordinate with warehouse, procurement and supply chain, prepare technical specifications for procurement, and control inventory and maintenance costs.
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures, work permits, risk assessments and environmental regulations, and promote energy efficiency and sustainability.
• Lead, supervise and develop the maintenance technician team, coordinate with Production, Engineering, Planning, Procurement and Health and Safety, and monitor departmental objectives.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field; a licentiate or additional university qualification is an advantage.
• Three to five years of experience in maintenance supervision or similar roles in industrial manufacturing or heavy industry.
• Proven experience leading technical maintenance teams and managing preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Advanced English, written and spoken.
• On-site availability at the manufacturing facility and flexibility to respond to emergencies outside normal hours.

Required skills

• Industrial maintenance processes and equipment reliability.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and KPI analysis.
• Maintenance planning, work order management, spare parts and inventory control, and maintenance cost management.
• Familiarity with CMMS; SAP PM is an advantage.
