Learning Support Specialist for Middle & High School

About the role

The Learning Support Specialist at Country Day School leads inclusive instruction for middle and high school students with mild to moderate exceptionalities. This position blends direct student support with strategic leadership to embed Universal Design for Learning, Multi‑Tiered Systems of Support, Response to Intervention, and differentiated instruction across the campus.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and monitor individualized support plans for students.
• Collaborate with teachers, counselors, administrators, families, and external providers.
• Serve on Student Learning Profile (SLP) teams and coordinate transitions between school divisions.
• Lead professional‑learning sessions and develop school‑wide inclusive practices.
• Analyze student data to inform continuous improvement of support systems.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education, Learning Support, or a related field.
• Valid teaching certificate or license.
• Minimum two years of experience supporting middle or high school students with mild to moderate exceptionalities.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
