Junior SOC Engineer – Cybersecurity Operations

About the role

The Junior SOC Engineer joins the Cybersecurity Operations & Governance team to protect and monitor the organization’s digital assets. Working closely with mid‑level and senior engineers, you will perform first‑level alert triage, support incident containment, and maintain audit documentation across all systems.

Key responsibilities

• Continuously monitor user, network, and endpoint activity using security dashboards and alerting systems.
• Review, categorize, and triage security alerts, escalating incidents to senior engineers when necessary.
• Assist in incident containment by isolating affected workstations and collecting forensic evidence.
• Support post‑incident reporting, detailing timelines, affected assets, and remediation steps.
• Participate in scheduled audits of endpoints, access logs, and user permissions to ensure compliance.
• Document audit findings and help enforce least‑privilege models across systems.
• Apply and enforce cybersecurity policies related to data protection, endpoint security, and administrative rights.

Required profile

• Foundational knowledge of cybersecurity principles, threats, vulnerabilities, and incident management.
• Basic understanding of Windows and Linux operating systems and networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, firewalls, VPNs).
• Familiarity with endpoint and network security tools such as SIEM, EDR, and DLP platforms.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with attention to detail in log review.
• Effective communication and collaboration within cross‑functional IT and security teams.
• Eagerness to learn new technologies and frameworks in a fast‑paced environment.
