Junior Production Planner

About the role

The Junior Production Planner will support the planning and scheduling of manufacturing orders at our La Lima Free Trade Zone facility in Cartago, Costa Rica. You will work closely with Production, Purchasing, Logistics and Supply Planning teams to ensure orders are fulfilled on time and resources are used efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Create, prioritize and monitor production orders to meet customer delivery commitments.
• Coordinate with cross‑functional teams to guarantee smooth flow of materials and capacity through the manufacturing process.
• Review material availability and capacity constraints, adjusting schedules as needed.
• Track order progress, reschedule production and communicate status updates to internal and external stakeholders.
• Monitor monthly budget performance and sales forecasts, supporting adjustments to achieve revenue targets.
• Prepare reports and provide planning data for operational decision‑making.
• Ensure compliance with Quality Management System (ISO) procedures and promote continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Production Engineering or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in production planning, manufacturing operations or a comparable combination of education and experience.
• Intermediate to advanced English proficiency.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes, production scheduling and order management.
• Familiarity with ISO standards is a plus.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, etc.).
