About the role
The Insurance Plan Clerk ensures that reinstatements, modifications, and cancellations of insurance policies are updated accurately and promptly. This role supports the billing process for medical providers by verifying patient insurance status and benefits.
Key responsibilities
- Validate patient insurance status and update plan changes in databases.
- Review and process account change requests, including balance updates.
- Handle vendor inquiries, reconcile inventories, and support Medicaid eligibility reconciliations.
- Manage onboarding and termination of vendors and assist during vendor transitions.
- Respond to eRequests and correspondence from collection agencies, including research payments and audits.
Required profile
- High school diploma.
- At least 6 months of experience in data entry or customer service.
- Fluent in English and Spanish (oral and written, 85% or higher).
- Ability to adjust schedule for Eastern Time Zone daylight‑saving changes.
Required skills
- Data entry proficiency.
- Customer service experience.
- Basic knowledge of insurance verification processes.
