About the role
We are looking for an HR Generalist to join Ulteig’s Costa Rica HR team. The role will focus on executing HR processes and programs, partnering with business leaders and HR Centers of Excellence to support company objectives. While primarily based in Costa Rica, the position may extend support to other countries as the organization grows.
Key responsibilities
- Serve as the first point of contact for employees and managers on routine HR inquiries, escalating complex matters as needed.
- Support employee‑relations cases, provide guidance to leaders, coordinate investigations, and document outcomes in line with company policy and Costa Rican labor law.
- Coordinate and administer core HR processes such as promotions, transfers, role changes, performance‑cycle administration, and employee‑lifecycle updates.
- Maintain HR data integrity by managing employee records, HR systems, and personnel files with confidentiality and compliance to internal controls and data‑privacy requirements.
- Partner with HR Centers of Excellence (Total Rewards, Talent Acquisition, Employee Experience, Talent Development, Performance Management) to deliver local program execution, communications, and enablement.
- Assist with benefits administration, vendor coordination (CCSS, INS, supplementary health plans) and provide backup support for payroll compliance.
- Support HR compliance activities, maintain required documentation, assist with audits, and stay informed of updates to Costa Rican labor law.
- Develop and continuously improve HR documentation, including handbooks, SOPs, policies, contracts, and internal guidelines.
- Identify gaps in HR processes and contribute to the standardisation and scalability of HR operations as the organization expands.
Required profile
- Resume must be submitted in English.
- Familiarity with Costa Rican labor law and HR compliance requirements.
