Financial Controller – Remote (LATAM)

About the role

MEDLIFE is seeking a detail‑oriented Financial Controller to support its remote finance operations across Latin America. Reporting to the CFO, you will ensure accurate monthly closes, maintain clean QuickBooks records and provide timely cash visibility for the organization’s mission‑driven projects.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries, accruals and bank, credit‑card and intercompany reconciliations for CFO review following the monthly close calendar.
• Maintain audit‑ready documentation for all processed transactions.
• Keep the QuickBooks chart of accounts, classes, locations and projects correctly tagged and flag any coding inconsistencies.
• Track trip‑level budgets versus actuals and unit‑economics, alerting the CFO when costs exceed the 30‑35% direct‑cost target.
• Compile the weekly cash‑flow flash report and update the rolling 13‑week cash‑flow forecast using CFO‑provided assumptions.
• Coordinate reporting deadlines with the Staff Accountant, Bookkeeper and country accountants, consolidating their submissions.
• Escalate late or incomplete submissions to ensure timely financial reporting.

Required skills

• Proficiency with QuickBooks accounting software.
• Experience in month‑end close, journal entry preparation and account reconciliations.
• Ability to maintain accurate financial documentation and support audit readiness.
