Finance Officer (P)

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Finance Officer to support and coordinate the budgetary and financial functions of its San Jose, Costa Rica Country Office. Working under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission and directly with the Head of Resources Management Officer, the incumbent will collaborate closely with the Regional Office in San Jose and the Department of Financial and Administrative Management at Headquarters.

Key responsibilities

• Provide support to the HRMO in monitoring and overseeing financial management for all activities in the Country Office.
• Oversee financial expenditure and ensure accountability for programme and project budgets.
• Undertake preliminary financial analysis of programmes and projects implemented in the Country Office.
• Monitor budget control and report on financial performance.

Required profile

• Experience working in financial management within an international or UN‑related environment.
• Ability to work under the supervision of senior mission leadership and in coordination with regional and headquarters units.
