Embedded Software Engineer

About the role

Joby is developing a vertical‑takeoff air taxi and is looking for an Embedded Software Engineer to create and verify software for advanced avionics systems. You will join a small, fast‑moving team that follows rigorous aviation standards and works in a test‑driven development environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop embedded software for a variety of advanced avionics systems.
• Write code that complies with aeronautical coding standards.
• Produce software requirements according to industry standards.
• Collaborate with the verification team using Test‑Driven Development.
• Test code and prototypes for next‑generation aviation equipment.
• Create test cases that meet certification compliance for software and hardware.
• Utilize test‑automation tools for both software and hardware.
• Document testing results in detail.
• Review source code, requirements, tests and documentation to ensure certification readiness.

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
• 1–3 years of experience developing embedded software in C/C++.
• Strong written and verbal English skills.
• Fast learner with strong problem‑solving abilities.
