About the role

The Director, Functional Area Geography Lead provides strategic and operational oversight for clinical data management activities across a defined geography. The role shapes regional plans, drives compliance, and champions innovative, digital data‑management practices.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute regional strategy aligned with global objectives, ensuring quality and regulatory compliance.
• Lead cross‑functional collaborations with Global Data Management & Standards (GDMS) and enterprise support functions.
• Communicate risk, trade‑offs, and decisions to executives; promote automation and risk‑based data‑management.
• Oversee operating model, multi‑year optimization, and capability expansion for the geography.
• Ensure inspection readiness, regional process adherence, and compliant controls for data, processes, and system changes.
• Analyze performance trends, identify efficiency opportunities, and report insights to governance forums.
• Manage regional risk, escalation, and capacity‑management processes.
• Collaborate with resource specialists to forecast needs, optimize capacity, and maintain performance dashboards.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in clinical data management or related functional area.
• Strong strategic planning and execution skills across multiple countries or regions.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional teams and influence senior stakeholders.
• Experience with regulatory compliance, inspection readiness, and risk management.
• Track record of driving digital transformation and process automation.
