Digital Project Manager – Digital Operations

About the role

Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a Digital Project Manager to lead digital transformation initiatives across its manufacturing operations. You will work closely with engineering, IT, and operations teams to deploy automation, IoT, and data‑management solutions that boost efficiency and product quality.

Key responsibilities

• Lead digital projects that optimize manufacturing processes, including automation, IoT integration, and Digital Performance Management platforms.
• Develop comprehensive project plans with clear goals, timelines, and milestones.
• Collaborate with manufacturing engineers, process engineers, IT, and external vendors to ensure successful solution implementation.
• Analyze existing processes to identify digitization opportunities and implement solutions that reduce downtime and improve quality.
• Create roadmaps and playbooks for each transformation project and continuously improve execution practices.
• Identify and mitigate risks such as integration challenges and data security concerns.
• Track KPIs (e.g., production efficiency, system uptime, cost savings) and prepare outcome reports for senior management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 + years of project‑management experience, preferably on digital projects in manufacturing.
• Proficiency with project‑management tools such as Smartsheet, Jira, and Confluence.
• Familiarity with Agile and Lean methodologies.
