Data Specialist

About the role

Moody's is seeking a Data Specialist to support data quality initiatives across its global risk and analytics platforms. You will work with large, complex datasets to remediate, validate, and enrich entity data, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and consistency for internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Perform data remediation, validation, and enrichment activities on high‑volume datasets.
• Identify and resolve data inconsistencies, duplicates, and incomplete records.
• Collaborate with operations, product, technology, sales, and external data providers to drive data quality improvements.
• Generate and report on data quality metrics using Excel and analytical tools.
• Leverage AI tools to automate workflows and enhance operational efficiency.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Finance, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with attention to detail.
• Experience working with large, complex data sets and data quality management processes.
• Effective communication and stakeholder‑management skills.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel for data analysis and reporting.
• SQL for data validation, querying, and reporting.
• Python scripting for data manipulation (preferred).
• Familiarity with Databricks, Jira, and Salesforce platforms.
• Hands‑on experience with AI tools to streamline data workflows.
