Cyber Security Analyst

About the role

We are looking for a Cyber Security Analyst to join Evertec’s security team. The analyst will monitor the organization’s IT infrastructure, identify threats, investigate security events, and coordinate incident response with internal and client teams.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze security alerts from a variety of sources (SIEM, firewalls, IDS/IPS, NAC, endpoints, servers, cloud services).
• Investigate and classify security events, escalating to the incident‑management group when necessary.
• Configure, integrate and maintain log sources (servers, network devices, applications, cloud) within the SIEM to ensure centralized visibility.
• Ensure health and integrity of log ingestion, guaranteeing continuous data availability.
• Collaborate with IT and client security teams to resolve incidents and collect evidence.
• Implement and maintain security controls such as firewalls, EDR/ATP solutions, antivirus, and endpoint protection.
• Assess unauthorized applications and associated risks on organizational assets.
• Produce technical and executive reports on investigations, control performance and security findings.
• Maintain up‑to‑date technical documentation, operational manuals and security evaluation methodologies.

Required profile

• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret events from multiple platforms.
• Experience working in a security operations environment and handling incident response.
• Excellent communication skills to present findings to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining compliance and operational efficiency.
