Contralor(a) – Unidad de Negocio Palma Tica, Quepos

About the role

The Controller will lead financial and operational control for the Palma Tica business unit in Quepos, ensuring efficient asset use, cost management, and compliance with administrative and operational processes. Reporting directly to senior management, the role interacts with producers, suppliers and auditors.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise accounting, cost analysis, statistics, internal security, legal, payroll and internal control processes.
• Indirectly coordinate materials and supplies, managing material warehouses across the division.
• Monitor monthly revenue, costs and expenses, identify budget variances and propose efficiency improvements.
• Evaluate financial aspects of investment projects, track physical and financial progress, and verify expected returns.
• Support the preparation of operational and investment budgets and conduct financial analyses for project formulation.
• Oversee fixed‑asset control, annual material inventories in 16 warehouses, and ensure zero discrepancies during external audits.
• Manage accounts receivable from fruit producers, land lease payments, and ensure accurate payments to suppliers, contractors and service providers.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, support internal and external audits, and uphold legal and safety standards.

Required profile

• Professional with solid experience in controlling within the agro‑industry sector.
• Proven leadership ability to supervise cross‑functional teams and interact with external stakeholders.
• Strong analytical mindset with capacity to identify cost‑saving opportunities and assess investment performance.
