Continuous Improvement Engineer II

About the role

The Continuous Improvement Engineer II leads and drives strategic continuous improvement initiatives to improve safety, quality, delivery, cost and productivity. As a key change agent in the Lean Manufacturing Six Sigma program, the role ensures customer satisfaction, operational efficiency and financial performance, providing technical leadership and collaborating with stakeholders across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor team members in conducting time studies and propose layout improvements.
• Review production schedules, engineering specifications and process flows to understand manufacturing methods and activities.
• Support and execute cross-functional initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, DMAIC, Kaizen, VSM and other operational excellence methods.
• Lead or support 5S and Lean initiatives, and cost reduction and productivity projects with measurable financial impact.
• Lead or support problem-solving workshops, root cause investigations and corrective actions across manufacturing.
• Manage process improvements and innovative projects, and perform other duties assigned by management.

Required profile

• BS degree in industrial engineering or a related field; self-taught in engineering or technology tools if needed.
• 3-5 years of experience in continuous improvement and in the manufacturing of medical devices.
• Experience facilitating Lean events, Kaizen workshops, Value Stream Mapping and DMAIC projects.
• Knowledge of FDA, ISO and other industry compliance regulations.
• Intermediate to advanced English.
• Green Belt or related certification, and SolidWorks/AutoCAD certification, are a plus.

Required skills

• Lean, Six Sigma, DMAIC, Kaizen, VSM and 5S.
• Advanced Excel, and strong MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Canva).
• Interpretation of engineering drawings, SOPs and technical manuals.
• D365 ERP knowledge is a plus.
