About the role

Portafolio Inmobiliario is seeking a qualified Accountant to manage, analyze, and record the accounting transactions of assigned companies in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and internal policies. The role involves preparing monthly financial statements and ensuring timely, accurate financial information.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly financial statement packages for assigned companies.
• Review and approve journal entries from banking, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and other modules.
• Analyze coding of entries related to purchases, project control, and other modules.
• Reconcile and control tenant receivables with the Collections Department.
• Reconcile and control supplier payables with the Accounts Payable Department.
• Coordinate work‑in‑progress account reconciliations with engineers.
• Review bank reconciliations prepared by Treasury.
• Manage fixed‑asset acquisitions, depreciation, and disposals.
• Control prepaid disbursements, amortization, and auxiliary updates.
• Perform adjusting and reclassification entries in the General Ledger.
• Maintain up‑to‑date subsidiary ledgers for receivables, cash, banks, investments, and loans.
• Generate, analyze, and record foreign‑exchange differential entries.
• Prepare annual financial statements and related annexes.
• Execute fiscal year‑end closing entries and respond to internal and external audit queries.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of full‑cycle accounting experience, including fiscal compliance and IFRS knowledge.
• Membership in the Costa Rican Private Accountants Association is mandatory.
• Basic proficiency in English.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Experience using Softland accounting software (preferred).
• Strong knowledge of IFRS (NIIF) and local accounting standards (NIC).
