CNC Engineer

About the role

Zimmer Biomet is seeking a CNC Engineer to provide advanced technical support and lead the development of machining processes for medical device implants. You will work with multiple‑axis milling and turning centers, collaborate with engineering teams, and drive continuous improvement across the manufacturing floor.

Key responsibilities

• Guide and mentor less‑experienced CNC programmers.
• Design, program, and optimise machining processes for multi‑axis CNC equipment.
• Lead process‑improvement initiatives to reduce cycle time and cost.
• Maintain and troubleshoot CNC programs using CAM software, CAD systems and measurement hardware.
• Create and update macros to streamline operator interactions.
• Manage program files in the central Delmia repository, ensuring traceability.
• Provide technical input for the purchase and testing of new CNC machines and tooling.
• Collaborate with machine and cutting‑tool suppliers to adopt best practices.
• Assist in manufacturing budget preparation, cycle‑time analysis and efficiency reporting.

Required profile

• Proven experience in CNC programming for multi‑axis machining centers.
• Strong understanding of CAD/CAM workflows and data management.
• Ability to analyse engineering drawings and select appropriate tools, speeds and feeds.
• Experience in debugging, testing and troubleshooting CNC programs.
• Effective communication skills for training and coaching technical staff.
