Carrier Sales Representative

About the role

Buena Vista Solutions is seeking a motivated Carrier Sales Representative to build and maintain relationships with carrier partners, negotiate transportation rates, and ensure timely delivery of customers' goods. The role blends inside sales, account management, and operational coordination to support our clients' logistics needs.

Key responsibilities

• Develop new carrier relationships nationwide through lead generation, cold calling, and referrals.
• Grow and manage existing carrier partnerships, including owner‑operators, dispatchers, and drivers.
• Negotiate rates, streamline key processes, and improve overall efficiency.
• Collaborate with internal Business Development teams to identify optimal solutions for clients.
• Provide exceptional service by ensuring on‑time deliveries and proactive shipment tracking via company software.
• Communicate shipment details accurately and resolve ad‑hoc logistics issues.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Prior experience in transportation logistics or a related field (preferred).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills across phone, email, and face‑to‑face interactions.
• Ability to persuade, motivate, influence, and negotiate effectively.
• Highly driven, resilient, agile, and capable of multitasking in a fast‑paced environment.
• Detail‑oriented with excellent organizational abilities.
• Desire to start or continue a career in sales.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and other logistics software.
