Bookkeeper (Remote, US Entity)

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented Bookkeeper to manage day‑to‑day financial record‑keeping for our US entity. Based in Costa Rica, you will work remotely with full overlap during US Eastern business hours, supporting the finance team as the company scales.

Key responsibilities

• Record daily transactions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and expenses in USD.
• Reconcile bank and credit‑card statements on a monthly basis.
• Process invoices, vendor bills, and payments.
• Maintain the general ledger and chart of accounts.
• Prepare basic monthly financial reports for the Finance/Controller lead.
• Support payroll data entry and expense tracking.
• Assist with month‑end and year‑end close processes.
• Organize financial documentation for audits and tax filings.

Required profile

• 2+ years of bookkeeping experience, preferably with a US‑based or international company.
• Associate’s degree or technical qualification in accounting, or equivalent practical experience.
• Familiarity with US GAAP or startup accounting practices.
• Strong English fluency, written and verbal.
• High attention to detail and ability to work independently.

Required skills

• Proficiency with cloud accounting software such as QuickBooks Online or Xero.
• Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills.
