About the role

As a Back-End Engineer focused on AI and growth, you will build, run, and continuously improve the AI‑powered systems that power Deel’s global go‑to‑market engine. This is a hands‑on, builder‑first position where you move from discovery to deployment, delivering robust features and APIs that scale worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and prioritize high‑impact technical and product problems that affect the growth engine.
• Design, code, and deliver high‑quality, scalable backend applications using Node.js.
• Ensure systems remain efficient, reliable, and performant under real‑world traffic.
• Lead execution through collaboration with other engineers, not just individual contribution.
• Partner with go‑to‑market (GTM) teams to align technical work with business outcomes.
• Run, monitor, and iterate on live workflows, fixing bugs and optimizing performance.
• Participate in full product lifecycle from discovery, design, implementation, to deployment.

• Experience working on scalable backend systems in fast‑paced environments.
