Azure Data Engineer

About the role

First Factory is looking for an Azure Data Engineer to design, modernize, and implement scalable data solutions on Microsoft Azure. You will lead the transformation of legacy workloads into modern medallion architectures and enable self‑service analytics for our clients.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement data infrastructure on Azure using Fabric, Databricks, Azure Data Lake, and Azure SQL Server.
• Analyze source systems to create end‑state data models and define Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers of a medallion architecture.
• Migrate legacy SQL Server BI stack (SSIS, SSAS, SSRS) to Azure services such as Fabric, Synapse, and Data Factory.
• Build ingestion, cleansing, and metadata‑driven pipelines using SQL, ODBC, and API connectivity.
• Develop dimensional and semantic models and create Power BI reports for self‑service analytics.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements and communicate expectations.
• Participate in the full delivery lifecycle: architecture, design, development, testing, and documentation.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience with Azure data services (Azure SQL, Data Factory, Synapse, Data Lake, etc.).
• At least 2 years using Azure DevOps or similar CI/CD tools and infrastructure‑as‑code (ARM, Bicep, Terraform preferred).
• Proven ability to design dimensional and semantic data models and implement ETL processes.
• Understanding of high availability and disaster recovery patterns for data workloads.
