Associate Fire Alarm Designer

About the role

Power Design is seeking an Associate Fire Alarm Designer to lead fire alarm design projects nationwide. You will review layouts, ensure code compliance, and coordinate with customers and project teams.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate optimal design solutions while balancing customer needs and budgeting requirements.
• Act as primary lead, providing technical assistance throughout bidding, design, permitting, and construction phases.
• Provide design direction, support, and guidance to team members.
• Communicate effectively with customers, project teams, and inspecting authorities.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years experience designing fire alarm systems, including high‑density, high‑rise, and smoke control projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook); Revit experience is a plus.
• NICET Level II or Level III certification preferred.
• Strong background in electrical equipment installation and electrical design fundamentals.
• Knowledge of local building codes and construction safety requirements (IBC, IECC).
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a construction‑related field preferred.
• Fluent written and spoken English; ability to travel internationally with a valid U.S. visa.
