Associate Estimator – Preconstruction

About the role

Power Design is seeking an ambitious Associate Estimator to support its Preconstruction team. You will help deliver accurate electrical estimates for multifamily and commercial projects, ensuring timely and competitive bids.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with a regional estimating team, providing leadership, direction, and training.
• Research market data to produce accurate, complete, and competitive pricing.
• Perform lighting, mechanical, terminal device, and plumbing fixture counts by reviewing construction plans and blueprints.
• Communicate with customers and internal teams to define project scope, address deficiencies, and negotiate pricing.
• Partner with construction teams to transfer awarded projects smoothly.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field (preferred) or 3‑4 years of electrical field experience.
• At least 1 year of relevant electrical estimating experience.
• Strong problem‑solving mindset with a focus on customer service.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment with strict deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills, organized, detail‑oriented, and efficient.
• Fluent in written and spoken English and holder of a current U.S. visa.
• Willingness to travel internationally as needed.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with estimating software (Accubid preferred).
• Electrical estimating and construction plan review.
