Associate Director, Clinical Data Management – Geography Lead (Costa Rica)

About the role

The Associate Director, Clinical Data Management Geography Lead will drive data‑management excellence across Costa Rica, ensuring high‑quality, compliant clinical trial data while building and leading high‑performing teams.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day data‑management execution, ensuring efficiency, quality, compliance and inspection readiness.
• Manage and develop local teams, aligning performance with Global Data Management & Standards (GDMS) expectations.
• Partner with Portfolio & Resource Operations to track workload, capacity and forecasting across studies and therapeutic areas.
• Ensure adherence to GDMS/GCTO processes and local regulatory requirements.
• Identify, escalate and mitigate operational or compliance risks.
• Lead recruiting, performance management, budgeting and coordination of on‑shore/off‑shore resources.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s (preferred Life Sciences, Data, IT) with 8+ years in clinical data management, or advanced degree with 4+ years relevant experience.
• Minimum 2 years of people leadership (direct or matrix).
• Proven experience managing large, multicultural teams in clinical trial operations.

Required skills

• Clinical Data Management operations and quality standards (GDMS, GCTO).
• Data standards, data flow, study start‑up systems.
• Workload planning, resourcing systems and performance metric tools.
• Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and 21 CFR Part 11 regulatory knowledge.
• Inspection‑readiness and audit support capabilities.
