About the role

The Preschool Assistant supports the lead teacher in creating a safe, nurturing environment where young children can learn and grow. This role involves helping with lesson preparation, classroom management, and daily routines to foster academic, social, and emotional development.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the teacher in preparing and delivering learning activities.
• Support children’s academic, social, and emotional development.
• Encourage active participation and autonomy of the children.
• Prepare teaching materials and classroom resources.
• Supervise small groups or individual students as needed.
• Help implement differentiated strategies to meet individual needs.
• Ensure constant safety and supervision throughout the school day.
• Assist children with daily routines such as meals, hygiene, rest, and transitions.
• Promote respectful, caring, and independent habits.
• Observe and promptly report any physical or emotional wellbeing concerns.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and prepared classroom environment.
• Help with decorating and setting up educational spaces.
• Assist in managing classroom materials, resources, and equipment.
• Strictly follow institutional child protection policies.
• Report any safety or wellbeing concerns immediately following established protocols.
• Maintain appropriate professional boundaries at all times.
