AI Engineer (Agentic AI, RAG, Python)

About the role

Beyondsoft, a mid-sized business IT and consulting company with offices across four continents, is looking for a hands-on AI Engineer. The role focuses on designing, developing and deploying production-grade AI applications centred on Agentic AI, multi-agent systems, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and cloud-based AI solutions. Candidates combine strong Python and backend skills with experience integrating LLMs with enterprise data and deploying scalable, secure solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement AI agents and multi-agent workflows using LangGraph, CrewAI, LangChain or similar tools, covering tool calling, task orchestration and workflow automation.
• Build and optimise RAG pipelines: document processing, chunking, embeddings, vector search, hybrid retrieval, reranking and context management.
• Develop backend services and APIs in Python (FastAPI or similar) and integrate them with databases, enterprise apps and external systems.
• Deploy AI applications on AWS, Azure or Google Cloud, using managed AI services and model APIs.
• Deploy, monitor and maintain applications with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native services.
• Evaluate LLM outputs, retrieval quality, latency and cost, and implement testing, tracing, observability, guardrails and human-in-the-loop controls.
• Work with LLMs, embedding models, vector databases and structured/unstructured data, applying prompt engineering, model selection and fine-tuning.
• Implement secure API integrations, access controls, data protection and responsible AI practices.
• Collaborate with product, engineering and business teams to turn requirements into effective AI solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, AI or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 4+ years of experience in software engineering, AI/ML engineering or backend development.
• Demonstrated experience building Agentic AI applications, multi-agent workflows or LLM-powered automation.
• Experience developing RAG solutions and integrating LLMs into backend applications and enterprise systems.
• Experience deploying applications to a cloud environment (AWS, Azure or GCP).
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, application monitoring and production troubleshooting.

Required skills

• Strong Python, including API development with FastAPI or similar.
• Preferred: LangGraph, CrewAI, LangChain, Semantic Kernel; AWS Bedrock, Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Foundry, Google Vertex AI.
• Preferred: PostgreSQL, Redis, Elasticsearch, Cosmos DB, vector databases; LoRA or QLoRA fine-tuning; inference optimisation, model quantisation, CUDA.
• Preferred: Go, TypeScript, React.
