Staff Continuous Improvement Engineer

About the role

Confluent Medical Technologies seeks a Staff Continuous Improvement Engineer to lead operational excellence initiatives in its Alajuela manufacturing facility. You will apply Lean, Six Sigma and data‑driven methods to boost quality, reduce waste, and ensure compliance with medical‑device regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead moderate to large‑scale improvement projects using DMAIC, VSM, Kaizen and SPC.
• Identify inefficiencies, develop data‑based solutions, and drive yield and productivity gains.
• Facilitate Kaizen events, root‑cause investigations, and problem‑solving workshops.
• Implement standardized work, visual management, and 5S across production areas.
• Partner with Production, Quality, Engineering and Supply Chain to sustain best practices.
• Analyze production, quality and cost data; build dashboards and metrics.
• Validate process capability, support IQ/OQ/PQ activities and ensure regulatory compliance (ISO 13485, FDA 21 CFR 820).
• Coach and mentor staff in Lean tools and continuous‑improvement principles.
