Senior Record-to-Report (R2R) Specialist

About the role

The Senior Record-to-Report (R2R) Specialist will own end‑to‑end General Ledger processes, ensuring accurate journal entries, balance‑sheet reviews and reconciliations. Working within Emerson’s Shared Services model, you will support internal and external stakeholders while driving continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Reconcile GL balance‑sheet accounts according to the reconciliation schedule.
• Execute and support the monthly accounting close, including manual journal entries and accruals.
• Prepare and post manual journal entries as requested.
• Maintain compliance with US GAAP and Emerson’s accounting policies.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to identify and implement process improvements.
• Leverage low‑code tools (Power Query, Power Apps, Power Automate) to automate data entry, reconciliation and reporting.
• Support internal and external audit activities, providing required documentation and explanations.
• Participate in the monthly financial statement reporting process.
• Develop ad‑hoc analyses for country controllers and business units.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration.
• 4‑5 years of experience in general accounting or a Big 4 environment, preferably in a shared‑services setting.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP and financial/accounting processes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (minimum B2).

• ERP systems – Oracle, SAP (or equivalent).
• Reporting tools – Hyperion or similar.
• Low‑code platforms – Power Query, Power Apps, Power Automate (preferred).
