Senior Architectural Designer – Mixed Use

About the role

Gensler is seeking a Senior Architectural Designer to lead mixed‑use and large‑scale projects. The role combines creative vision with technical expertise to deliver functional, beautiful spaces while mentoring junior staff.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the creative efforts of design projects under the supervision of the Design Director.
• Collaborate with practice area leaders to elevate design quality and achieve recognition for clients and the firm.
• Manage all design phases from concept through construction administration.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams on mixed‑use or large‑scale projects, maintaining design intent throughout.
• Produce programming, conceptual, schematic, design development, space planning, and construction documentation.
• Create mood, material, and design presentations independently.
• Oversee furniture plans, specifications, material selections, and schedules for construction documentation.
• Participate in client and consultant meetings and communicate ideas through hand sketching or digital graphics.
• Mentor team members across all design phases.
• Develop material palettes and inspiration boards, aligning decisions with sustainability goals.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering complex mixed‑use or large‑scale architectural projects.
• Ability to navigate multidisciplinary coordination and technical complexity.
• Strong design leadership and ability to guide junior designers.
• Understanding of sustainability, social and environmental impact of design solutions.
