Primary Homeroom Teacher (PYP) – Elementary English

About the role

Golden Valley School, an international IB‑PYP institution in Costa Rica, is looking for an enthusiastic Primary Homeroom Teacher to deliver English, Math and Science instruction to elementary students. The role focuses on developing reading, writing and speaking skills while supporting the school’s individualized learning approach.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, curriculum‑aligned lessons tailored to each student’s abilities.
• Foster high‑performance learning skills and maintain a stimulating classroom environment.
• Collaborate with the Head of Department to support students with special educational needs.
• Design and administer assessments, keeping unit plans and grades up to date.
• Communicate student progress to parents through meetings, reports and evenings.
• Promote the use of English as the common language and support language development for academic success.

Required profile

• Bilingual proficiency with a strong command of English.
• Minimum three years of teaching experience at the elementary level.
• Degree in English or related field and valid teaching qualifications.
• Commitment to students’ social‑emotional well‑being and whole‑child education.
• Experience with IB programmes and ESL/SSL learners is a plus.
