Payroll Manager – US & Canada

About the role

The Payroll Manager will lead end‑to‑end payroll execution for Varicent’s North American operations and support global payroll cycles across multiple regions. Reporting to the Senior Director of People Operations, this hands‑on role combines operational leadership with deep technical expertise in US and Canadian payroll.

Key responsibilities

• Personally process and reconcile US and Canada payroll cycles, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
• Execute payroll runs for EMEA, LATAM and APAC regions, supporting year‑end activities, tax filings and reporting.
• Administer health, dental, disability, life, retirement and wellness benefits for North America and coordinate international benefits with regional vendors.
• Maintain up‑to‑date payroll and benefits data across HRIS and vendor systems.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state/provincial and international payroll legislation, supporting audits and internal controls.
• Act as escalation point for payroll and benefits inquiries, providing guidance to employees and internal partners.

Required profile

• Extensive hands‑on experience processing payroll in the United States and Canada.
• Strong understanding of multi‑region payroll execution and benefits administration.
• Detail‑oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy, timeliness and regulatory compliance.
• Proven ability to work independently while collaborating with global HR and finance teams.

Required skills
